Joomla Showroom is excited to announce the release of Event Registration Pro version 1.5.7.

We have added quite a few great enhancements along with this rewrite.

Here is a list of what we have accomplished in this new version. 

1) Full rewrite of the component to MVC native Joomla file format - This new version is a complete rewrite of the entire component. We rewrote the entire code base in the MVC file format. This will provide a much more stable foundation for the system and also allow the Joomla Showroom team to produce more features faster than ever before.

This new format will also help us prepare for the new version of Joomla 1.6 that is slated to be released in beta stages in the next month or two.

2) Added Group/Multiple Ticket Discount feature - This feature will allow you to set discounts based on the amount of tickets that are purchased at the time of a registration. For example you can now offer a 20% discount if someone buys a QTY of 2-4 ticket choices and also a 40% discount for a QTY of 5-10 ticket choices. Yeh, you can have tiered discounts with multiple levels. SWEET!

3) Added Early Bird Registration Discount feature -On top of the group discount feature listed above, now you can have special discounts (in percentages) if someone registers before a certain date. You can add as many discounted dates and percentages as you wish and they will be automatically applied. And once the first early registration discount date has past, it will become hidden and the next discounted date will take over and be applied and so forth. how awesome is that?

4) Added new feature to add multiple email notifications at the event level - Now when creating or editing you event there is a new field where you can add multiple notification email addresses on a per event basis. So if you need to have different people notified when someone registers for different evens, now you can do it.

5) Added a new payment plugin architecture -This has to be one of the best feature that we could have done for you. Now all of your payment gateway choices will be installed as native Joomla plugins and not as an Event Registration Pro extension. These new payment plugins are more flexible for you as the customer. They will now allow you to change the name of the payment option choices to whatever you want. So if you don't want it to say "Offline Payment" you can now change it to easily say "Mail in payment" or whatever you want.

NOTE: if you are using a payment gateway plugin from OSDCS.COM then you will need to double check with them BEFORE you upgrade  to make absolutely sure that they have your payment gateway plugin converted over to this new plugin format. They have a lot of gateways to convert and they will all take some time to get done. Please contact them to work out a timeline of when your payment gateway would be converted.

6) Added the ability to copy registration forms -Many people have requested this feature and we listened to you. This will make it easier for you to add multiple registration forms that are very similar without creating each one from scratch all over again.

7) Updated online user manual -  We have updated the online user manual to reflect all the new changes that we have done. Soon we will also be updating all of our tutorial videos as well.

 8) Updated Event Modules - Please note that the latest Events and Event Category modules have both been updated for this new version. Please delete your old ones if you are upgrading and install the new ones.

WE STRONGLY URGE ALL CUSTOMERS TO UPGRADE TO THIS NEW VERSION. 

UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS

To upgrade to a new version of Event Registration Pro you will need to
first go to www.joomlashowroom.com and verify that you have the latest
version available. After obtaining the most recent version of the software
you can simply uninstall the old Registration Pro component from your site.

No data will be lost in this process as the database is left untouched.
Simply reinstall the new version of the extension.

After installing the new version you will see a warning that says:
NOTE: If you have just upgraded from a previous installation,
you must click the UPGRADE DATABASE icon in the control panel.

 
The upgrade database icon is in the main dashboard of the component.

This is VERY IMPORTANT to do after an upgrade so make sure you do this or
your may encounter errors. Double check your data is all there and that all
configuration settings are the same as before.

With upgrading from versions 1.5.6 or earlier you will need to reinstall your payment gateway plugins
and reconfigure them.
If upgrading from 1.5.7 or later your payment gateway plugins and all settings will remain.


UNINSTALL/REMOVE

To uninstall Registration Pro, simply uninstall the component,
and the Latest Events module. However the database tables
for the component will NOT be deleted when the component is uninstalled.
