Joomla Student Outreach Program

The Joomla! Project has been talking about implementing a new 2010 Joomla! Student Outreach Program for a couple of months now. Well it is finally here and ready to accept applications from students that are interested in participating in this great program. The application deadline is May 10th, 2010. We have included links and deadline information for anyone that is interested in playing a part in this exciting new program.

 

The purpose of this program is to provide a structure that allows students to gain real-world software development experience working with world-class mentors on projects of value to the Joomla! community.

 

Joomla Showroom CEO Mike Carson is very honored to have been asked to participate in this program as a student mentor.

If you are a student or you know of a student that might have an interest in applying to be a part of this program then please get your applications in ASAP.

Here is a chart of the deadlines for each itemized task.

Date Description
26 April 2010 Students can begin submitting applications.
10 May 2010 Student application deadline.
17 May 2010 Students notified of acceptance into the program and assigned to projects.
20 May 2010 Team organization and preparations begin.
1 June 2010 Let the coding and work begin!
30 June 2010 First round of short projects ends.
1 July 2010 Second round of short projects begins.
30 July 2010 Second round of short projects ends.
31 August 2010 Long projects end.
6 September 2010 Final evaluations on long projects due.
